Poonam & Rohit

On February 4th, 2024, I had the honor of officiating a legal-only ceremony for the delightful couple, Poonam and Rohit. From the moment they reached out to me for consultation, they exuded warmth and hospitality, welcoming me with traditional Indian sweets and drinks. Despite specializing in elopements, intimate gatherings, and grand celebrations, I also offer legal-only ceremonies tailored to couples' preferences, just like theirs.

Though the ceremony was intimate, held in their beautifully decorated living room, the joy and significance were palpable. Both hailing from India, Poonam and Rohit, international students in Darwin, sought to have their union recognized in Australia before embarking on a grand six-day celebration back home in March.

One aspect I deeply appreciate about Australia is its commitment to inclusivity in marriage, regardless of gender or visa restrictions. This ethos of equality was evident as Poonam and Rohit exchanged vows on Australian soil.

Following the ceremony, we promptly lodged their marriage with the Births, Deaths, and Marriages registry, and within a mere ten days, their union was officially recognized, complete with a marriage certificate.
